Short-Term & Travel Insurance
Between plans or leaving the country?
Don't leave your health to chance.
Short-term health plans bridge a gap in coverage. Travel medical plans protect you when your health plan stays home. We’ll help you choose the right one, and tell you honestly when you need something else.
Find out what your health plan covers outside the U.S., if anything.
Buy before you leave
Travel plans need to start before your trip. Trip protection is best bought soon after booking.

Keep your ID card and 24/7 assistance line on your phone and in your bag.
FAQs
Short-term and travel questions,
answered.
Is short-term health insurance the same as a Marketplace plan?
No. Short-term plans don’t have to follow the Affordable Care Act’s rules, so they can limit benefits and exclude pre-existing conditions. They’re designed to fill a temporary gap.
Can I be turned down for a short-term plan?
Yes. Short-term plans usually ask health questions and can decline coverage or exclude certain conditions. We’ll tell you up front what to expect.
How long can a short-term plan last?
It depends on federal and state rules, which have changed in recent years. We’ll explain what’s available in Florida today.
Does my health insurance cover me outside the country?
Many U.S. health plans offer little or no coverage abroad, and few cover medical evacuation. Check your plan before you travel, or ask us to.
Can I buy coverage for relatives visiting from another country?
Yes. Visitor medical plans cover guests while they’re in the U.S. It’s best to buy before they arrive.
