Dental & Vision

Most health plans stop at your teeth and eyes.

Your family's care shouldn't.

Cleanings, fillings, eye exams, glasses and contacts are the care you use every year. Individual and family dental and vision plans make it predictable and affordable.

How Dental Coverage Works

Three levels of care.

One simple idea.

Most dental plans pay a different share depending on the kind of care. Knowing the levels makes it easy to compare plans.

Preventive

Cleanings, exams & X-rays

The routine care that keeps small problems from becoming big ones.

100%

typically covered

Basic

Fillings & simple extractions

Everyday treatment when your dentist finds something that needs fixing.

70–80%

typically covered

Major

Crowns, bridges & root canals

The bigger work, and where the right plan saves you the most.

50%

typically covered

Annual maximum

The most a plan pays in a year. If you’re expecting major work, a higher maximum can matter more than a lower premium.

Waiting periods

Many plans cover cleanings right away but wait months before paying for basic or major work. Some plans skip waiting periods.

Percentages are typical examples. Coverage levels, deductibles and maximums vary by plan.
