Life Insurance

If something happened to you tomorrow, would your family be okay?

Let's make sure they would be.

Life insurance replaces your income, pays off debts and keeps your family’s plans on track. We’ll help you figure out how much you need and which type fits your budget.

A quick rule of thumb

10–12×

your annual income is a common starting point for coverage.

You know you should.

You just haven't yet.

Life insurance is easy to put off. The good news is that getting it right usually takes one conversation.

What It Protects

More than a policy.

A plan for the people you love.

The mortgage and debts

So your family can stay in the home they know.

Everyday living

Groceries, bills and childcare, replaced by the policy.

Education

Keeping college plans on track for your kids.

Final expenses

Funeral and end-of-life costs, handled.

Your business

Buy-sell funding and key-person protection.

A lasting legacy

Something meaningful for family or a cause you care about.

Types of Coverage

Four ways to protect your family,

explained simply.

Most affordable

Term Life

Coverage for a set number of years, often 10, 20 or 30. If you pass away during the term, your beneficiaries receive the death benefit. It’s the most protection for the lowest cost.

Lasts

A set term you choose

Cash value

None

Best for

Young families, mortgages and income replacement

Tip

Match your term to your longest obligation, like the years left on your mortgage or until your youngest finishes school.

Lifelong coverage

Whole & Permanent Life

Coverage that lasts your entire life and builds cash value over time. Whole life offers fixed premiums and guaranteed growth, while universal life gives you more flexibility.

Lasts

Your whole life

Cash value

Grows tax-deferred

Best for

Lifelong needs, estate planning and legacy goals

Tip

You can borrow against cash value, but unpaid loans reduce what your beneficiaries receive.

Help while you're living

Living Benefits

Lets you access part of your death benefit early if you’re diagnosed with a qualifying chronic, critical or terminal illness, so you can focus on getting better, not the bills.

Available

As a rider or built into some policies

Pays for

Treatment, care or lost income

Best for

Anyone who wants protection that works while they're alive

Tip

Ask about living benefits before you buy. Adding them later isn't always possible.

Simple and small

Final Expense

A smaller whole life policy designed to cover funeral costs, medical bills and other end-of-life expenses, so your family isn’t left with the bill.

Coverage

Smaller amounts, lifelong

Premiums

Stay level

Best for

Seniors and anyone wanting simple, affordable coverage

Tip

Many final expense plans need only a few health questions, with no medical exam.

Side by Side

Term vs. permanent,

at a glance.

Term Life

Permanent Life

How long it lasts

A set term (10, 20 or 30 years)

Your whole life

Cost

Lowest premiums

Higher premiums

Cash value

None

Builds over time, tax-deferred

Premiums

Level during the term

Level for life (whole life)

Best for

Covering years of big obligations

Lifelong needs and legacy planning

Why Now Matters

Every birthday you wait

can raise the price.

Premiums are based mostly on your age and health when you apply. Buying sooner locks in a lower rate, before a change in health makes coverage harder to get.

FAQs

Life insurance questions,

answered.

How much life insurance do I need?

A common starting point is 10 to 12 times your annual income, adjusted for your mortgage, debts, college plans and savings. We’ll help you land on the right number for your family.

Work coverage is a great start, but it’s often only one or two times your salary, and it usually ends when you leave the job. A policy you own goes with you.

Not always. Many policies use simplified underwriting with health questions only, especially for smaller amounts and final expense coverage.

They let you use part of your death benefit while you’re alive if you’re diagnosed with a qualifying serious illness. They’re often available as a rider when you buy the policy.
